Breakthroughs have been made in green control of Mikania micrantha

The key technologies and applications for green control of Mikania micrantha in forestland, led by the forest and grass Biosafety Research Group of the YAFG achieved the following results:

1)Revealed that there are three groups of Mikania micrantha , which invade the mainland of China; 

2) Built the first Sky and Ground Integrated Monitoring Technology System of Mikania micrantha in China; 

3) Discovered a new native natural enemy insect, Pachypeltis micranthus Mu et. Liu, and developed the technology for its protection and utilization technology; 

4) Developed two herbicides and their reduction and efficiency enhancement technologies; 

5)Selected eight alternative control plants and seven ecological regulation models;

6)Established the specifications of Partition Management and Classification Policy for Mikania micranthum, and constructed the prevention and control technology system of early warning, monitoring, governance and restoration. 

7) Established the quarantine and inspection stations covering the whole province and effectively prevented the cross-regional spread of Mikania micrantha; 

8) It has become the core technology of Mikania micranthum control under the guidance of Yunnan Provincial Major Forestry Pest Control Headquarters, and won the second prize of the 11th Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Progress Award.
